Many of you know what goes on behind the scenes

to offer activities at your parish.

I'm trying to convince myself to ask about having a All Saints Day Party/Potluck.

Considering all that it takes, and maybe even financial help from the parish, do you think it's too late to ask?

Should I write up suggestions?
Who would I ask....our priest, youth activity director, or send the info to both?

We don't always have an All Saints' Day party but one we really enjoyed.. we had someone host a bonfire later afternoon.. done by full dark.. and the "potluck" was more organized and was basically chili (multiple people brought) and hot dogs and hot chocolate.. the kids came in costume and it was FUN.

At our parish everything goes through the priest.

I don't think it's too late to ask. All they can do is say no if it isn't a possibility. There definitely is still plenty of time to pull it together. And like Jodie said, if it's a potluck type event then much of the food and materials are covered by participants.

It's hard to know who to ask not knowing the adminsitrative structure of your parish. If there is a family ministry position or adminsitrative/scheduling position that is who I would ask. Asking the priest is always fine, too - just ask him who should you talk to if it isn't him.

We don't have a family ministry or scheduling position that I know of. Well, they aren't listed in the bulletin like the other positions. (So much to learn

)

Our parish membership has recently changed, after three years of prayers, that we now have a large amount of families with children.

I'll take the suggestion to approach our priest with the idea for his consideration.
