Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone give me opinions of which of these 2 religion texts you like and why?

I am looking at grade 1 & 3 for next year. I have used both programs, and I prefer the Seton simply because I like the workbook format (I know, for shame).
However, I am trying to decide if the F&L is more engaging.

We've never used Seton, but I heartily recommend Faith and Life. They do have Activity books that are kind of workbooky (if that's a word)

I've used both for early elementary. At first I like Seton religion well enough. But it got to be very tedious and repetitious for the girls. They did not like it. For these past few years we've used Faith and Life as a basic text, and I have been pleased. Faith and Life is too short to use as a stand alone religion course on a daily basis. So I give my children the task of doing a religion lesson every day, but they choose between the Faith and Life text, a children's bible, and our library of saints books. It's worked very well for us.

We have used Faith and Life for all eight years of religion. I love the series, but I have the older version with the resource binders (which are no longer available), not the newer versions which have an expanded teacher's manual.

Also, when we were in the states, a new priest came to teach 7th and 8th religion at our Catholic school. He was adamant about having F&L in the classroom.

We have used both.
I like Seton as it's quick and easy and daily. So if we don't get around to any other rel. text I don't feel overly quilty as we have covered something. Having said that I love F&L too. But at the moment Seton suits us.
I combine it with some of the MA books and saints read-a-louds.
