Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For an adult read I recommend Bernadette Speaks: A Life of Saint Bernadette Soubirous in Her Own Words by Rene Laurentin.

For children - Bernadette, Our Lady's LIttle Servant from Ignatius Press is a good one.

I wish there was a picture book.

Years ago I read a biography by Rene Laurentin I believe called simply Bernadette of Lourdes. I haven't been able to find my copy for years, but it really, really was the best I've ever read on her. I might even venture to say it was the best saint biography I've ever read. I haven't been able to ascertain if the Pauline Book version you mention above is the same or similiar to what I read.

MaryM's recommendation is one of the old Vision books, and a great one. The Daughters of St. Paul have another title, Light in the Grotto, which I read and loved growing up.
