Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know the exact wording of this quote, and to whom it is attributed? I'm thinking it's a female saint, and it has kept me up all night!! Thanks!

"All shall be well, all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well."

Googled it. Medieval mystic St. Julian of Norwich said it.

Ah Janette, you beat me to it. I've always loved that saying. St. Julian of Norwich suffered thru grave times, plague in her land, and personal suffering, but retained such a spirit of optimism. One of my daughters is named for her!

Perhaps wrongly so, but I usually bristle at Julian of Norwich, not because of her writings and actual life, but how liberals and feminists quote her writings so frequently. Can you help me shed this reaction?
