Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yesterday, on the feast of the Pentecost, I was listening to Fr. Corapi's CD on homeschooling. It was amazing and really inspiring. My husband was on his tractor mowing what we call our lower field. I was sitting at our outdoor table taking notes while I was playing that CD in a prayerful and contemplative moment. Suddenly I heard a sound above my head that sounded like a gunshot. A stone as large as my fist had shot out from the mower and barely missed my head. It was so strange because my husband and the tractor were so far away!   The rest of the day was spent in thanksgiving and how lives can change in an instant.

I am so thankful that our Lord is ever watching over us. We had a family hug. Someday we will know ALL that the Lord has done for us throughout our lives here on earth and the invaluable gift, Mary, that God has bestowed on us!

God bless,

That's very scary! I'm glad the outcome was so good.

Wow! Praise God for watching out for you. The same thing (but a smaller rock) came ultra close to hitting my then 1 yo in the head about 5 years ago. My dh was standing with me, and a neighbor boy was mowing the lawn. We both agreed that if it had hit him, that would have been it! Since then, I steer way clear of lawn mowers outside, but I guess you really don't have to be that close for something to happen.
