Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just received a Liturgy Training Publications catalog which has for sale An Illustrated Catechism (Paperback, 19.95 which includes The Creed, The Sacraments, The Commandments, and Prayer) by Inos Biffi.

There is also The Life of Mary (Hardcover, 12.95), which I can't wait to see.

BUT...they are on backorder right now, and not even a website link. They estimate they will be available in May.

I'm so excited, because I know these are such great treasures and now having them back in print is tremendous!

Yes, I think it was on the Real Learning Booklist, and also the Mater Amabilis list (KathrynUK and MicheleQ).

Oh, I have been hoping for ages to get a used copy of The Life of Mary! (I've never even seen it, but I know that it must be wonderful.) I just love the Inos Biffi books (as Jenn knows    )! Thanks, Jenn, for the heads up. Now if you'll just let me know once they're not on back order anymore...

I'll keep you posted...maybe someone else might know.

I just found it also online here at Acta Publications. Has anyone heard of them? You can pre-order through them.

I'm with you, Mary G. I think I have all the titles but Life of Mary. There is also Story of the Eucharist, but it's very different from the rest.

A friend reviews books for the Catholic press here and gave away her review copies of An Illustrated Catechism and The Life of Mary at our homeschool group last week. I got The Life of Mary . I browsed through An Illustrated Catechism, which is a paperback bind-up of the four original books. I think I may have to buy it even though I have a couple of the separate volumes

Kathryn,

Do you like the Life of Mary -- I love the illustrations in Biffi books and am so hoping the Mary is of the same ilk ... good text and fascinating graphics....

Is the Sacrament book called 'The First Sacraments?' That is the one I have or is it another book again?

I hope someone else can answer why. I initially looked for them because they were on the lists. I find them unique because they teach elements of the faith from the catechism for children, but in a picture book form, and the illustrations are lovely, and captivate my son.

I didn't know there was a Life of Mary! We love the Biffi books here. The illustrations are beautiful, and the text is simple -- but reverent, not cutesy. Even my short-attention-span 7yo will sit still for them.

I like the Biffi book I have simply because of the illustrations - I love picture books and picture books on the Faith are a bonus for me.

I picked up The Way to Bethlehem at our Catholic bookstore for 50% off after Christmas.

I included it on the Christmas Mosaic booklist.

It is very thorough, even includes "Saints of the Christmas Season" at the end.

And it appeals to older and younger reads. The pictures are .
