This week, some of the dc are working on self portraits. We were inspired by Jonathon's university course on art, last study period. And we are getting ideas from the San Diego Museum of Art website. They have some great lesson plans.

It's so interesting how you're in Australia and we're in CA and we're doing the same things! My oldest two took out the chalk pastels and paper last week and sat on the back porch and drew themselves. I was thrilled!

As a follow up - the younger two boys finished their self portraits. They chose to do symbolic self portraits.

A highly recommended activity! Involved discussion, art and writing.
