So has anyone used one of these? What do you think? I recently discovered this. They have some in the children's area of our new Discovery Zone in one of our museums. It is a surface that you can write on with water (on brush) and it holds the image for a few minutes then dries clean again. It was really cool and we wondered about availability to real people. Found their site - Buddha Board and it's sold on Amazon as well.

So minus the "meditative" aspects promoted - used just for creative outlet and fun, I would love to get one. It was educators night so didn't have any kids with us to see how it appeals to kids, but imagine is would be a winner. Let me know your experiences or thoughts. Thanks.

We have two of them, Mary, a small and a large one. The kids love them, and they are useful for several things: in the atrium (the meditative aspect after doing a catechetical work is perfect here), for kids to practice different kinds of brushstrokes prior to painting (such as for Japanese ink painting), and just for fun. It would probably be a great way for small children to practice writing letters as well - although I would use a cheaper brush or maybe even q-tips for that. Mom could make the letter then child could trace over it before it dries.
