Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Everyone is into drawing in our house. I am looking for some new resources, and would love recommendations. Here is what we have:

1. Catholic how to draw
2. Dover - bird drawing
3. Mark Kistler
4. Bruce McIntyre
5. Usborne how to draw books from years ago
6. Draw/Write now

I do have Drawing with Children and links to Harmony Art Mom's squidoo pages as well as Donna Young's pages - But I have never got very far.

My kids especially want to learn to draw "nature" - in particular birds.

I would love to hear what you use.

Thanks so much.

Have you considered Youtube? There are many many videos on there, and you can chose different levels for different children. My dd has used it extensively to draw almost anything.

Specifically for nature and birds, the Clare Walker Leslie books could be used. They aren't so much art technique books but they do have those elements and they focus specifically on things that would be drawn from nature.

I really like the Artistic Pursuits program but it is more of a art appreciation/art techniques study than a specific how to draw type resource.
