Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am a huge fan of the Klutz books. There are so many, usually based in art, and they are usually well done.

My ds received How To Draw Funny for Christmas and has really enjoyed it.

So, I thought I might pick up a few more for the summer. I checked my library first... they only had one

But then, hooray! I checked at Paperback Swap and hit the jackpot. They have plenty of them available.

I used my existing credit there to order the Yo Yo book, a marble-shooting book, a Photo tricks book (ideas for taking funny/trick pictures with your camera) and a one about spotting cool vintage cars as you drive around town. Ds should like that. I'm hoping this will help keep my crew filled with creative ideas for the summer.

They also had a book on jump rope rhymes... almost got it that but my library has many.

Anyway... what are your favorite Klutz books?

PS... PBS still has many klutz books listed. I didn't take them all

I know our library doesn't carry them too much because of the "pieces" that come with them. They lose that stuff and consider it a bad library investment.

These are some of our favorites.
Some are pretty old - from the first series.
Stop Watch
Magnetic Magic
The Book of Classic Board Games

Paper Fashions
Lettering in Crazy, Cool, Quirky Style
Cat's Cradle
Fairies: Petal People You Make Yourself
Fabulous Flowers: Create Pretty Paper Blossoms

We have that one, too. I like it.

I'm glad you liked the fairy petal people one, Mary. I splurged and ordered that new for dd via Amazon. She's all into the Rainbow Magic fairy books right now.

Ha- I went back and ordered the Olympics one at PBS... was wondering about it, and your rec pushed me over the edge on that one. I figured it could be a lot of fun with the (real) Olympics coming right up.

I asked my children which Klutz books are their favorites. In addition to the already mentioned Fairies: Petal People You Make Yourself, they recommend these books:

Twirled Paper: Make Almost Anything with Simple Paper Strips

My Very Own Horse Book

Crochet: Learn to Crochet Six Great Projects

Knitting: Learn to Knit Six Great Projects

I have been eyeing that one also. Paper quilling is so cool. We have done it on our own, but this looks like a great kit for introducing someone to the craft.

My children have made some beautiful cards for family and friends over the years using the quilling skills and designs that they have learned from this book.

I have to say that original credit should go to Alice, as I think that she originally made me aware of quilling and this Klutz offering.

Bumping this up...

What Klutz books have your kids enjoyed lately?

The Klutz Washi Tape Sticker Book
has been a big hit with my dd. She has spent hours making stickers.

We also are liking the Klutz Star Wars Thumb Doodle Kit

I have been on the hunt for a good copy of the Klutz Watercolor for the Artistically Impaired book... no luck so far, but we're enjoying all our other Klutz books
