From this thread there has been a request to share some beautiful and lovely art materials, materials that nurture creativity in our children, that aren't from specifically Waldorf sources. I would be so interested in this as well. Would you share your sources? Maybe you could drop a link in a post with some reasons as to your preferences, and for my part, I'd love to take the ideas and resources you offer and bring them up here so they're easily glanced at for review.
I have tried to list all those areas that I think of that encompass art materials that nurture creativity. Please do let me know if I've missed something. I'd love to brainstorm with all of you.

I recently saw Honeysticks on line.
They are beeswax crayons made in New Zealand.
I thought they looked interesting and was wondering if anyone has tried them? It's $12.95 for a set of $12. I thought that was a pretty good price compared to others I have seen

As listed on another thread, we get our art supplies almost exclusively from Dick Blick.They have excellent quality and reasonable prices. You can get watercolors there in every level of quality from cheapo student quality to excellent professional quality and lots of levels in between. They also have great papers in all weights and varieties.
As for creative play, I would like to suggest checking out Etsy. I have bought several things from various crafters there and have always been pleased with the quality. The prices are a bit steep sometimes, but the items are always hand-made, and you know exactly who makes them, so you can support whomever you choose. Plus, it is nice to support small, cottage industry rather than the big guys sometimes, if you know what I mean.

I just found these today.... they're molds for making soap, but I thought they'd be useful if anyone wanted to make their own beeswax crayons!

Don't Move the Muffin Tins: a hands off guide to art for the young child - by Bev Boss
It's written for preschool children but the ideas are way to fun to limit to the little ones. 
It has ideas on paper and paints and sculpture.. including recipes for homemade clay and playdough. Just lots of neat ideas for young children to explore art.

Well, my book (In His Image) has great resource lists, but after the Waldorf thread, I'm going to need to go back and revise those recommendations a bit .... I'll be watching this list for suggestions of new places to send folks ...
