Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just in case anyone wants to do a little early research, I was going to choose Winslow Homer for the February Artist Studay. Chosen again for his birthday, the lucky man shares my birthday of Feb. 24. He was an American artist who lived in the late 1800s/early 1900s.

If you'd like I can put together a list of pictures early - just let me know.

Oooh, goody! I see they have a collection at the NGA. I'm trying to do more fine art with the kids, but I feel my energy starting to lag. Thanks for organizing this. I don't need an early list, btw. I'm in the middle of gathering and strewing for Black History Month.....

I love Winslow Homer! We have In the Mowing over our fireplace ... I wonder if my girls will recognize other works of his, as I haven't really focused on him with them. Looking forward to your picks, Amy!
