Let's see... In our art cabinet, we have:
6 bottles of glitter glue in various colors
8 bottles of paint
finger paints
water colors
8 scrapbook style scissors
construction paper in various colors
pipecleaners
popsicle sticks
glue
clay
Play Doh
oil pastels
stamps and ink pads
a box of feathers
eyes
stencils
a box of ribbon
paintbrushes of various sizes
yarn
foam cut outs
markers
crayons
colored pencils
beads
I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Oh boy.....
A large box of acrylic paints (this is the preferred painting medium around here) including metallic
A set of watercolor markers, permanent markers, crayons, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, drawing pencils, calligraphy markers, chalks and oil pastels, stamp pads...oh and cheap watercolors
Play-doh, felt, clay, muslin, yarn, googly eyes, buttons, stickers, chenille stems, fun foam, poof balls, beads, feathers, glitter, popsicle sticks
This glue, that glue and the other glue
Paper: tissue, watercolor, tracing, graph, drawing, cardstock and construction....and we also have lots of the Dover and Bellerephon coloring books.
And strange stuff like cornhusks, jingle bells, twine, styrofoam balls and wire.
There are various sets that have supplies like Tomie de Paola's kit and color by number and Spiderman window stencils.
I have to agree with the post on Lissa's blog about watercolors in the tube vs. cheap pots. "But I do get the tubes (like Stockmar) instead of the pans of paint*, because you get much richer & more satisfying colors that way. A tiny dab goes a long way since you're mixing it with water. I have never met a child who didn’t adore mixing colors. "
I have the cheap ones and they rarely use them. I might have to get the tubes now as I really want the kids to get some other looks beyond acrylics.

Almost everything mentioned.....but it doesn't get used very much...bad mom!!! This is a huge goal, to do more crafts, not even crafts, really, as I am NOT a crafty person, but just let the kids go for it with whatever materials they want. I even have a "school/room" with a big table that I don't care what happens to it....what is wrong with me????

Add scrap wood, fabric, feathers, rocks, jewels, costume jewelry and other "garbage" the dc have retrieved, cleaned and hidden away. However, I am like Erica - the younger almost never use it, only the 11 yo and 14 yo and sometimes the 8 yo. Mom has nothing to do with it except try to be gracious when mess clean up reminders are due.
Also take out the glitter - my dh requested that we not have any more of that after we were finding it in our food all the time.
We also have model paints and the paints for those suncatchers (never did the suncatchers but the paints on paper are particularly brilliant).

Nothing!!!
Ds has removed everything and put it all in boxes. He then lugs the boxes all over the house so he can create art and show the dog when he finishes. When the dog leaves the room so does ds and all the art boxes.

Impressive list, everyone. I guess I am most impressed that everyone seems to *have* an art cabinet. I have art supplies scattered around the house.

Well - for us that is misleading about art cabinent. Our art cabinet is in boxes on a top shelf in the laundry room and in a rolling set of shelf drawers next to the sewing machine, in the garage in boxes, and in 14 yo room. So you see - our art cabinet is also scattered throughout the house. Oh, the glue, crayons, markers, tape, scissors, etc are in my locked school cabinet with the games and art paper - also the stamps that 3 yo thought were stickers. There are 2 keys (one on my key chain and another in oldest dd br - all the older dc know where the keys are and can get whatever they need whenever - the littles have to ask me). It is our solution to 3 yo who gets into everything and a mom who cannot seem to pay attention to more than 1 thing at a time.

Wow Janet, you must have set up my art supplies! I have paper and stamps in a rolling set of drawers just under the sewing table in the laundry room and the cabinets in the laundry room hold everything else. There are a couple of rubbermaid containers in there holding a few craft supplies and some fabric.
