I wanted to mention a lovely site I found that catalogs a database of art inspired by the stories of the Bible.

Art and the Bible

The site appears to be protestant based, referring to the King James version of the Bible, but they do include the deuterocanonical books in their catalog.

The biblically based art is extensive and could springboard a lovely art program. Each image lists a link to the artist and that artist's bio page as well as the link back to the biblical verse/s inspiring the piece of art. Here's where you'll get the KJV of the Bible, but I still find this site to be such a find and useful reference that I wanted you all to know about it!

Thank you so much!! We are doing a Jesus tree for Lent and I like to show the kids a depiction of the event we are reading about for that day. This site will make it so much easier for me to find art that goes with the reading.
