Going through former posts about Waldorf Art I didn't come across what I was looking for so maybe someone with experience can help me.
I am interested in the idea of doing some waldorf art this year and I have seen all the materials but I don't know where to start and how to start teaching this method. Can anyone point me to a direction. I need a how to book that I can reference to of how to do the paintings and colorings and why.

Thanks Donna for the reply.
After doing some more research I found this website They offer a how to on using the block wax crayons and watercolors. It is a great tutorial. For those just starting. http://www.stockmar.de/index.php?language=en&shopCatId=0013c 079a884ec32&baseCatId=0013c079a875af8b&currCatName=manuals%2 B%2B&sid=9ed626b6e40f3f7e5b8531b70177e0b0

Can I ask a bit more, Donna? I'm going to go through the page you linked to - there are some books there that I have never seen before that are really appealing to me! Thank you for that link!
Do you set aside specific art time then? Or do you integrate it and ask the child to interpret a picture from a lovely storybook or print?
Do you spend some time focusing on beeswax crayon illustrations and then watercolors and then watercolor pencils and so on...or do you allow the child to choose the medium?
Claudia - thank you for the Stockmar link! I'm off to print those out for our art folder! And thank you for starting this thread - very timely for me, and I was wondering some of the same things!

For me I think I am really going to start off slow and use Stockmar because I need to also learn it as we go. I love all the pdf files that they provide.

Oh, timely, timely. I've been trying to work out how to create the beautiful chalkboards that teachers in Waldorf school make - for our own lessons. Such a shame that they get erased... So I was thinking I'd use some black heavy-duty paper or posterboard and preserve the images.
The problem is the technique. So much comes from just doing, but a "dummies" guide would certainly help get things rolling. I found some likely titles here. Not really the "Waldorf" technque, but lovely and soft all the same.
Blessings,
