Hi all - I just wanted to pass along a wonderful art resource. I found it at the library - Teaching Art With Books Kids Love - Darcie Clark Frohardt. I thought I had heard about it here, but I don't see the post...

The book uses Caledcott Medal and Honor books (and others) to illustrate art concepts and then presents simple to implement art projects. We just finished the first project on "line" and the kids and I had a blast.

I am so glad to hear you are enjoying this book ... I bought it on impulse recently, and put it aside to use with my boys beginning this fall. I like how clearly the lessons are laid out; she makes it seem simple to teach these concepts.

And anytime a subject can be connected with books, I'm all for it! Especially art, where I have been woefully lax and intimidated (despite having a mother who is a gifted artist!!!)
