Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Wanted to share a series of books that we are really enjoying at the moment. The World Explorer series, the children and I have really been enjoying these books. We have read about Roald Amundsen (South Pole), Ferdinand Magellan (the first person to sail all the way around the world) and Henry Morton Stanley (Explored and mapped interior of Africa) we still have more to go, Columbas, Marco Polo etc. I don't know if these books are still in print but a must to grab at any used book sales.

Can you tell us who the author is? I googled it but only came up with a geography textbook series.

Robin,
I've listed the authors for you below from the 'World Explorer Series'

Marco Polo by Charles P Graves
Henry Stanley Morton by Charles P Graves
Christopher Columbus by Mervyn D Kaufman
Ferdinand Magellan by Lynn Groh
Amerigo Vespucci by Faith Yingling Knoop
Sir Walter Raleigh by Adele DeLeeuw
Roald Amundsen by Adele DeLeeuw

James Cook by Adele DeLeeuw
Hernando de Soto by Elizabeth Rider Montgomery
John Smith by Charles P Graves

There is also a series on rivers of the world
I have St Lawerence Seaway of North America by Anne Terry White- Haven't read it yet.
And other rivers that I don't have.

We are quite disappointed that we've finished these books. Some we don't own, but will be on the look out.
Hope you have some luck in your search.
