Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ok, I know this exists but cannot seem to find exactly what I want...

A chronological booklist for good history books, picture books/read alouds especially online (all ages would be great, but more importantly, something for the younger set).

Whose got one?

Actually, I don't know if exactly what you are looking for does exist. I have usually seen lists that are one or the other. These past threads include suggestions for some often recommended sites/lists - most often sited is Reading Your Way Through History.

List of history books
Living history books for grades 1-5?
American history reading list

I am embarrassed to say that I have been working on a picture book list like this for several years - one that is as comprehensive as possible, but one I haven't posted. I have hinted and promised some folks I would publish it here soon and still never have. Because I can't get a format I really like, and there are gaps in the time periods (not much in many early centuries), and I know I am missing good books, and I don't have them organized by date in some sublists, and how do we protect it from being lifted without credit to 4 Real, and....excuses, excuses...

So I guess I am going public and saying I will post it but need to write an intro and disclaimer for it before doing so. So nag me if you don't see it by the weekend, because I really need to do it. I have posted a portion here - 20th century.

I refer often to the booklist on Simply Charlotte Mason.

I go to Emmanuel Books, , where I can search by historical period and grade level. Their selection tends to cover what's on many other lists, and I can easily pull up titles appropriate to my child's age and ability.
