Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

One of the few FM books that I haven't seen. Is the protestant bias in this too overwhelming to use as a supplement with an 11 or 12yo? I would read through it first, but don't want to spend time if there is already a known problem. I'm looking for a book of short biographies from characters of middle-ages, so if you've another please share.

I don't remember it being too bad. You can preview it online at The Baldwin Project:
Famous Men of the Middle Ages
What you really need to be careful about are the Greenleaf Guides to the Famous Men series, since they definitely have a protestant bias.
