Hello

Has anyone read Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins.

My son got it has a gift after my sister read me the cover and it sound ok but now that I have the book and I am reading a little of it and have read some of the reviews from www.commonsense.org I am concerned.

The reviews are favorable but they compare it to the Harry Potter. At my sons age (11) he is still have a hard time with fiction and reality and we have choosen to be causious. We try not let him read anything where there is too much volience, lying or "it's ok it's for a good cause senerio"

I made the mistake of letting him listen to the first two HP books and that was a big mistake. He was not ready.

My other concern is that most of her books have so much voilence.

Could you also recommend great books for him that has fantasy, It's important to alwasy do was is right, family stays together and good prevails. I know this is tall order.

He has been challenging himself to read above is reading level and he is really enjoying it which I am surprise. My son needs lots and lots of physical activity. I don't want ruin that with my over reaction to each book.

Anything you can offer would be appreciated.
