We're moving to GA in a few weeks, and I'd like to put together some fun facts and art work (free is best) that the kids could make a lap book (unit study) out of while we're down there house hunting.
I am TERRIBLE at google, but did find a few things on homeschoolshare,
Does anyone have any other links they'd like to share?? Blogs they've published on it?? ANything?
Thanks!!

Welcome to Georgia!
Here are three books that I use to teach state history.
The Tree That Owns Itself: And Other Adventure Tales From Out of The Past
How To Draw Georgia's Sights and Symbols
13 Colonies:Georgia
I know there is a free Georgia Habitats lesson plan somewhere....I'll start looking.

Teaching Georgia's Habitats by Tina Marsh and Kimberly Taylor
I thought it was free, but all I found online was this,
"I'm a 3rd grade teacher in Coweta Co. Another 3rd grade teacher and I have written a curriculum unit that contains five 8-page mini-books on the coastal plain, piedmont, mountain, ocean, and swamp regions with illustrations and fun pages. Each book teaches the plants, animals and features of the region. Along with the mini-books, we have resource information and gradeable student activity pages. It's a 65-page book that we're selling for $15. We are marketing it to Georgia 3rd grade teachers because we couldnt' find any curriculum on GA habitats, so we researched and wrote our own. We are working on getting a website up (check by end of July) where you can view sample pages and order a PDF copy online, or you can contact us by email (tina.marsh#cowetaschools.org or kimberly.taylor#cowetaschools.org). Hope this helps!"

We are in Dahlonega. I don't know anything about the Warner Robbins area. Homeschooling in Georgia is EASY - as long as you turn in your Declaration of Intent to Homeschool and turn in a monthly attendance form. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

thanks!! I LOVVE Dahlonega, haven't been since I was a kid, but I remember it being awesome!
I'm not worried about the homeschooling, I'm worried about making fellow Catholic friends!
Thanks for all the links!!
if you find any info on people in history from GA, that would be good too!!
I have 2 weeks to get this all set up for the kids!
