Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have the Uncle Josh's outline map CD-ROM and it's quite nice. The maps are very well done. They're outlines, though - no cities or state names. We've used them for a variety of activities over the years. I've never had any trouble using the product or printing the maps.

I've had the Uncle Josh's Outline Maps on my wish list for a couple years now.   I just can't decide if there is anything there that I can't get here for maps....Houghton Mifflin Education Place Maps.

I have the original Blackline Maps of World History from Knowledge quest.

They are designed for history studies and are labelled accordingly. Each map comes in two levels fully labelled and outline with title. The maps I have are black and white but the newer ones appear to have color.

Lesson plans are provided as well.

While I haven't used the Uncle Josh set of maps, I have bought maps from geomatters (the publisher). I found the set I bought (the laminated blank continent map set) to be nicely done and well suited for our geography studies. (we wanted large maps so that we could put bigger pictures on them, laminated so that we could use white board crayons- I took pictures before taking down and erasing the maps)

My recommendation is that if you wish to have blank maps for your current geography studies then you want the geomatters maps. If you want a easy to use set of maps and mapping activities to go with history then the Knowledge quest maps would be preferable.

BTW the knowledge quest publisher has a comparison of her maps and the Uncle Josh Maps http://www.knowledgequestmaps.com/article4.htm

OK, I'm the dissenting view ...

I HAD Uncle Josh's and just never did seem to use it. Any time I needed a map I couldn't find just the one I wanted and ended up back on Google searching .... ... I sold it a few months back.

That said, I have bought Ancient World, Medieval World , New World, Modern World, and US edition and really like them. I got the 6 book set and have incorporated them into our history/geography for next year (we'll be using All Ye Lands). I like the way she's got them laid out and it just seems easier to use than Uncle Josh (which is great if you're using the Ultimate Geography Guide or one of his products, but harder to use if you're not -- which I wasn't.

Here's a link to Terri's sampler pack which will really help you understand the difference:   world history sampler

Hope that helps.

Well you are not the only dissenting because I'm the same, they seem too basic for what we are often needing, I was thinking it was me perhaps.
