Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm going to try and begin doing the 4 year rotation I have read about, beginning with the beginning. I'm wondering what books you would recommend. I've heard of Story of the World, by Susan Wise Bauer, that the first two are alright but beware the last two. I've also heard of Virgil Hillyer's "Story of the World". I'm looking for any and all recommendations for all ages and grades. (Please mention approximate grade level if you can.)
Thanks!

I suggest checking out RC History's book list It's a great starting point.

Seconding the RC history booklist, although I must admit that not all of my children have found Founder's of Freedom and The Old World's Gift to the New appealing (too textbookish).

Another book that I've found works well as a core spine has been Gombrich's A Little History of the World.

I've found it to be good for family reading. It's a lovely book to read-aloud, the chapters are just the right length for us, the material is interesting and just enough to whet the appetite for more. My six to eight year old children enjoy listening to it but it's still engaging for older readers (including me, I found myself reading it from cover to cover right after I bought it)
