Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am always so excited by the resources that I find on this amazing site. I thought I would see if there are any ideas that you amazing women can share with me. We are studying Asia. And I need help!
I have tons of stuff associated with China, Japan, India, and the common countries. I am looking for picture books and ideas (crafts and food) that deal with Cambodia, Thialand, Korea (north and South), Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Burma(Myanmar),Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arbia, Nepal, Singapore, Syria and Yemen.

We are still in China slowly moving into Mongolia and then Russia. However, I know that someone must of gone here before....Asia.

I have Montessori "work" associated with Asia that is primarily for the 3-6. So, if anyone has research cards that you made for the 6-9 or 9-12, I would love if you would share. I have made them for China and Mongolia, but the thought of making them for the rest of Asia is a bit daunting! Also any ideas for extensions on the Montessori work to make it appropriate for a 6-9 would be great. Any ideas for 9-12?

Blessings,
Lisa B.

We are doing Around the World this year and are right in the middle of Asia.

Here are a few posts of things we've done that you are looking for...we haven't done all of those yet either.

Russia plans

Russia Missionary Study (Brother Andrew)

I really REALLY enjoyed reading God's Smuggler. Brother Andrew smuggled Bibles into many countries in Asia and the middle east - so if you're looking for a true, exciting and faith building story, I highly recommend it!!

Middle East plans

Homeschool Share - Asia resources

I hope some of these links might help.

Both of you..Thank you! I love the picture books I found on home school share. I don't know why I didn't look at that. Erin, I love your plans for Asia. I thought I found every picture book possible for China, but you had some gems posted that I am going to look for. Thanks. Candace, the Middle East Plans are wonderful. A big thank you sharing the link with me!

Blessings,

Lisa

Hacky sacks are Korean. You can make one by taking two square pieces of stretchy cloth (same color or different), putting a small mound of rice in the middle, tying off the rice ball part with a rubber band and fringing the ends that stick out.

A Korean friend taught me how to do this...easy and fun!

A Single Shard is an excellent read-aloud about Korea. You could add a clay craft project to go with this.

Don't forget kites!
