Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have always done history as a family up until this year (with my oldest supplementing on the side). Now I just feel swamped (drowned) and I can't do it all.

My dd12 is most probably dyslexic and I need to find some enjoyable history for her. She enjoys living books history but does not enjoy the 'overview type' books like SOTW (she is listening grudgingly to this but now claims she hates history which has always been a family joy!)...

Any ideas out there for some good audio history stuff? I am in a bit of a rut    (We have swung through Ancients and Middle Ages twice but we haven't covered hardly any Canadian History in years and we keep missing the modern times (although we have read heaps of historical fiction on that era).

Kristie

I have gathered lots of audio links here and a friend has discovered more.

Specifically on history, here is librivox history and to purchase are Bethlehem audio books.

We are currently listening to Gombrich's Little History of the World. This is the first time we have listened to an overview of history, he has funny little asides that have us eye-rolling a bit. The children moan and groan but they have been like that about history for a while
