Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Chari,
If you mean the original version, I let all my children watch this. Although there is some frank discussion of Anne Boleyn's, er...laxity...I found that that went mostly OVER the heads of the little ones, while they retained a sense of awe and respect for ST. Thomas More as he held the course for his faith.

I LOVE this movie, and the book (which is actually the script) is just as wonderful.

All my kids watched it over the summer. No issues for them (9-15). Paul automatically shuts out any mention of men/women and their relationships.

There is one scene of Anne Bolyn with Henry VIII. The dress is very scanty and we are uncomfortable with that scene for our boys(ages 3,6, 8 and 11) - we just fast forward that part. Otherwise all have watched it and really like it. Any other discussions are so subtle they are missed. We really, really enjoy watching this one.

Our homeschool group recently put it on as a play. It was great and they all learned lots of lines. It's a fun thing to do. We had mostly older girls so they had to play some of the guy roles which was a bit tricky - but it did work. Our daughter was Roper. Cardinal Wolsley was played by a very thin, soft spoken feminine girl. I really wondered about that one - but she did a great job with everything but looking fat (guess that was too impossible). Our 11 yo was the jailor and the executioner. I do wonder now if we could have gotten in trouble for bringing a real axe and ale into the library meeting room - they were props.

The older ones put on the Man for All Seasons right after the little ones did their Nativity play. That was our solution to little ones running around too - as they practiced at the same house and time as the olders. One of the older students helped direct the older students while adults worked with Nativity.
