Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are making a display of the James Towne settlement and are looking for a good salt dough recipe that will last! My dd is planning on inserting small wooden sticks for the palisades. Do you have any ideas? The history fair is Saturday so we need something that will not take forever to dry and also not need baking.

Thanks,

What we used for some people figures that seem to be holding up (at our parish even!) is 2 parts flour to one part salt, teaspoon (I think!) of cream of tartar - water to consistency.

I personally like to rip up old white paper, soak in the water to be added to the mixture - somehow I just "trust" it more to hold up? It just seems more firm that way? More like paper-mache, I guess.
