Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am new to lapbooks, but as we will be taking off regular stuff during December to focus on baking & gift making, I thought it would be nice to work on an advent/nativity/Christmas lapbook. Could I ask for some inspiration? I always get such good ideas here at 4 real

Here is a free one on the Twelve Days of Christmas. It looks like fun.

This one will need to be tweaked a bit for Catholics.
There are missing books of the Bible which affects a couple of areas in the lapbook. Also, the 10 Commandments.

Thanks for pointing this out. I hadn't looked through the whole thing.

I love your suggestions for Advent. We are looking at dropping everything and just doing Advent activities.
It puts me out of my comfort zone, but it will be a nice wind down to the school year.

I love the O Night Divine blog! I followed it last year but forgot to bookmark it, so I'm very glad you posted it!!

I was having trouble finding any lapbooks mentioned though...do you happen to know where abouts I should look for them? Or has anyone else found anything like that on the blog?

thanks!!

I guess I could add that HSS has a few Christmas book units and lapbooks...

Here is a unit that I put together for the Legend of the Candy Cane, which is a book listed on the sidebar of O Night Divine...

Legend of the Candy Cane unit & lapbook

Also, here are the rest of the christmas units on HSS.

Christmas literature based unit studies

(I have mentioned before that I am not Catholic, I lean more towards the evangelical side, so I'm not sure which ones of these units would work for you, but thought I'd list them anyway.) :)

Don't forget Elizabeth's Advent and Christmas with Tomie dePaolo unit. Doesn't give you an actual lapbook, but there is SO much information there. I'm already planning our Advent through this unit study.

Candace, thanks for the link to your lapbook. We'll definitely do that this year.

I wish we could drop everything and just focus on advent, but we've had too many vacations already.

Dear Mary Ellen,
We have just completed the Advent lapbook.
it was so much fun, and very inspirational.
Thank you so much for putting it all together.
I will soon post the finished product on my blog.
