Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Our French teacher is overseas and while we are looking for a new French teacher, I thought it would be good in the interim to use a self teaching French curriculum or some easy to use French resources in our home.

Have you used and can you suggest any good programs, books etc for French? Thanks for any help!

We are using Le Francais Facile and we really like it! You can also order it from Timberdoodle. Good luck!

We are using the Spanish edition of this and like it. I was going to recommend the French edition to you since the format is the same, but it looks like I was beaten to it

God bless,
Christine

I realize your kids are older but we used and loved a program called "Springboard to French" last year. It is a simple tape that gives directions to do things (sit down, skip to the door, touch the door, turn around, etc. . . .) and you listen in French and do. It may be too silly for olders, but we did learn a lot! Having lived in a foreign country, this kind of learning and RESPONDING is great, and even language classes for college students/adults use these sorts of techniques (then everyone can feel silly together). And it is only 5 dollars!!! I bought this off of a link at Ambleside online, I do not remember the website. Anyway, for 5 dollars, I was quite impressed . . .

If you are more advanced though maybe the Barrons "French the Easy Way" or "French Grammar the Easy Way" would be better for review. They were a bit over my 12 year old's head last year. They looked quite good to me and, inexpensive.
