Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi all. I have the "Great Colonial America Projects" book and hope to use that soon with all of my children for a unit study of sorts with the kids. Anyone use this and like it? Does anyone have any tips on incorporating our regular text with more fun, hands on projects?

This is an old thread on Colonial Era hands-on activities and living literature.

Chicago Review Press puts out a couple series of activity books for children. I have been very impressed with the ones I have seen. There are lots of very engaging hands-on activities for different historical periods. The one on Egypt by Marion Broid that Erin mentioned in your other thread is published by them. These are the other Chicago Review Press books that would fit your Revolution/Colonial period.

American Revolution for Kids
American Folk Arts for Kids
George Washington for Kids

Colonial Kids

And Theresa I hope you're reading this thread. You had a book in your side bar this year that was a revolutionary or colonial activity book I believe. I know I requested it from the library after seeing it at your site, but can not remember the name of it at all. Help!

You may want to check these out too:

Time Travelers Series : Colonial Life

They also have New World Explorers, American Revolution, etc. If if you didn't use their actual "unit study" there are tons of activities.
