Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was thinking of investing in one of those fun-looking talking globes this upcoming year. I didn't realize there are a lot of different brands.

I don't really know what would be best. Anyone have a favorite or anyone have one that was miserable because it broke a week later (or something like that).

They aren't cheap so I wanted to see if others felt it was worth it or not! Thanks for any help!

I was also looking into these. It was the GeoSafari globe that originally had me interested, but after doing research I was leaning towards the LeapPad globe. I have decided to hold off on buying one for the upcoming year but look forward to hearing what others have to say.

We have the Oregon Scientific Smart Globe, and the kids LOVE it. We got it for them for Christmas this year (my twins are obsessed with geography), and it's been a hit. I like that it came with a CD so we could update it when needed. My kids play with it a lot, and I think they've learned quite a bit. Their favorite feature seems to be listening to the native music and national anthems of different countries.

hi~
we have the leap frog odyssey globe. i am not usually a fan of electronic toys, but it has been a winner.
my dd(7) really has learned a lot of geography from it. it has a game that she plays where it asks you where places are, and it is quite a challenge to keep up with her.

That's the one we have and it's been great.

Costco carries it occasionally. We have had it for over a year.

Jumping in late here Kacky, but we have the same globe as Emily, and my kids love it too. We use it to reinforce some lessons with our Montessori maps and geography lessons. My kids absolutely love the globe!

Well that is 4 for Oregon, 1 for LeapFrog and 1 for Geosafari.

Getting close to a decision for sure now! Thanks for the input ladies!

My daughter got the Oregon globe for Christmas from her grandparents and she loves it. I find we are getting more use out of it now that I put it on a table at her level rather then on a shelf where it looked real nice. Our geography lessons so far are simply locating places we read or hear about on the map. I think I will step it up a notch and start using ALL the other buttons for interesting factoids.
