Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used this? I still have not purchased Latina Christiana for everyone - and have heard that this may be an easier alternative for families?

OK, Marilyn, I'll bite:
I have used both. I didn't like LC I (I never bought LCII) because it seemed a little too fluffy and I was looking for something a little more challenging. That being said, lots of my friends LOVE this program. My kids didn't. I had the first edition, so it may have been improved in the meantime.

Our Roman Roots is really a Western Civ/ Latin appreciation program that focuses just as much on thought-provoking questions as it does on Latin vocabulary and learning your endings. There is a lovely Christian virtue theme woven in as well.

I think, either way, your children will learn the basics of Latin so it doesn't seem so overwhelming when they have to start declining 4th declension, ablative case nouns. Try and get friends to loan you their copies for a look see, and then you can decide for yourself what would work best. :-)

Peace,
Macmom
