Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I would love to hear any ideas/resources for planning a unit on South America. I found some ideas on the board such as the CHC tour of South America and these picture book suggestions. I would love some help on organising for dc from 14-3, Thank you all

There's a great game called "Ten Days in South America" that I'd recommend. We have "Ten Days in Africa" and have enjoyed it very much.

LPH has a very reasonable class on geography of the Americas that we've done. We were actually studying American geography, and used it only for that portion---once it branched out from the USA, we left it off (though my 10 year old did it all the way thru South America and enjoyed it). It's easy, inexpensive, Catholic and will keep you on track---there're a lot of countries in South America! The negative is that they do two or three countries every week, and we found ourselves rushing, not much time for rabbit trails. But it did keep us honest, as it were , Even though it's so easy, I used it as a spine for the older children,too---gave them more indepth readings and projects to do.   I believe the cost is $20 per semester---at that price, we could tweak it to make it work for us!

I know I have some South American resources floating around, but I need some caffeine, first!
