Well, it's still been quiet. We do need to submit our guesses this week (by Friday!) so everyone should be sharing results.
Then we first started and only had photoperiods we found our location to be almost directly at the 49th parallel. That was neat because that is the borderline between Canada and the United States. (Obviously it also goes through Europe and Asia) but it we were hopeful it would end up in Canada and I had a feeling about Vancouver. Well, that is what it actually turned out to be.
I'm going to check through the old posts to compile all the information in one place - here. If you see this before I do then please post your guess (City, Country, Latitude, and Longitude) and I'll move it into this post. I think there have only been a few guesses posted anywhere at this point. At some point if people aren't posting their own we need to have others who have tracked the locations post their info.

Help!
We are certain that mystery class #8 is located on the island of Sardinia in Italy. The last clue is throwing us for a loop! We're going to check a few more photoperiods and see if we can narrow down the city.

okay, i think we have it!
class #6 - city is Yangon.
eta:
that would make the longitude & latitude
16° 47' N & 96° 9' E
i'm not sure how that translates to decimals. here's my guess:
16.7 N and 96.15 E

Thank you for gathering the answers Mary!
Actually, I have a correction: Our longitude is 116deg.25'E and the latitude is 39deg.55'N (or sometimes it's listed as 40deg. even.
BTW, how do you make the little degree sign on a keyboard?

Way to go, Erica. I had no clue - had only narrowed it to Sardinia a few weeks ago and hadn't looked again. That one was tough. It reaminded me of the hardest one last year when it had a similar clue - city was the same name as the province and there were several in the country/region that met that criteria. Was it you that really helped figure that one, MichelleW?
See, Jennifer, some of the locations are a lot harder to pinpoint than ours was.

Sorry we are chiming in so late!! We had a plumbing crisis yesterday that totally fouled up my plans, so to speak...
Anyway, here we are with the info for Class #10. Kate had guessed Port Lincoln, Australia based on the longitude & latitudes, and the last two clues confirmed it:
Dean Lukin, an Olympic gold medalist in weightlifting, was a tuna farmer in Port Lincoln;
and a Port Lincoln racehorse named Makybe Diva won the Melbourne Cup three times.
Lat -34.7333
Long 135.75
All right, we've got to get our group's answers submitted today! Kate & I will be working on that now...
And MARY M, thank you SO MUCH for keeping the ball rolling with this project!
