I am so proud of my husband and boys. And I'm really excited that, through the computer, I can share them with you. Take a look at them here. After only a little research into how they were made, I think they turned out pretty well, no?

The neighbor kids thought we were all looney when we started this project. Now they want to commission my husband to make them some. My husband just laughed, "As if I have time for that!"

Oh, and here's another funny story. This friend of theirs lives next door to his grandma. My kids were being Berserkers (no, really, this is a Viking thing ) with their shields and long branches as swords through her yard when she hollered, "Get those sticks out of the yard and high-tail it home. My yard is not a battle field!" Some people just have no sense of adventure. Meanwhile, the boy they were charging was laughing his head off.

The shields are beautiful, Tina! I'm sure that the kids will treasure them and thank their daddy for ages to come.

Those are so cool. My boys would love them and they'd be chasing each other around too.

Tina,
Your boys reminded me of mine - sticks and all! Mine are coveting the shields. What a great job your husband did!
Oh, and if that's your van, it looks just like ours too!

Wow, those look great! I better not let my sons see this or I'll never hear the end of it...
