I have the MM blue series to help supplement areas my dd has trouble with.

Some of the worksheets have problems such as:

"Fill in the numbers on this number line", followed by a blank space.

Am I supposed to make up my own number line and sketch it for her? Pick any numbers I want?

I am wondering... it seems there must be a teacher's manual I don't have that tells you what to put in all these blank spots.

I am feeling rather dumb about this... there must be a simple answer that I am not seeing. I have gone back and read the intro to the blue series and have not found any more explanation there.

OK_ someone point out the obvious to me. This is driving me nuts!!

Do you have the print workbooks or the PDF? If I print out the entire section of Blue Series, there is an answer key for it printed in the end.

I have the pdf. I have not scrolled to the end of the current book we are working on (place value), but I will do that now.

THANK YOU. I felt like I was cuckoo.

That sounds like a page glitch (not exactly a typo, since it's an image that seems to be missing). I haven't seen that on any of the books I've gotten, but I have found other typos/glitches.

For immediate use, you can just draw a number line yourself. For interest's sake, make it start and stop at unusual numbers, or maybe make the marks count by some amount. For instance, you could mark 737, 747, blank, blank, 777, blank, blank, blank, blank, blank.

But also, you should email Maria and tell her it didn't print right. I'm sure she would love to know, so she can fix the file. As far as I know, it's just her writing all those books, and with just one person, there are always glitches that don't get caught. She needs our help to find them, and she's always been good about responding to emails.

Thanks, Denise. I will try that as well.

I am looking at the pdf for PLace value book 1 in the blue series.
On page 19, there is no number line drawn.

In the answer section in the end of the file, the spot for the number line is also left blank.   Other blank spots are filled in for some of the other problems that I was missing, so maybe it is just an error in printing.

I just looked, and my Math Mammoth, Blue, Place Value, page 19 has the number line printed, Melinda.

I think that Denise is correct, and your copy didn't print correctly. Did you use Adobe to view and print? Sometimes, if I view a pdf using Preview (I'm on a mac), pdf's don't view or print correctly, and I end up missing parts of pages. Your situation is exactly how I discovered this, so I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Ahh- I am on a Mac using preview to print. I will try to print via Adobe and see if that helps. Thanks for the help!

Problem solved. Wow- I was missing a lot more images than I even realized.

Thanks, ladies, for trouble shooting this with me .

You are a blessing!

Yes....if you use Preview, there are a lot of things that won't come up on MM. You have to use Adobe Reader and all is well! I went through the same thing and bothered poor Maria with my crazy questions!

Another thing we found out, even when using Adobe: If you close the tab/window before it has finished printing it can affect the print job, such as incoherent wording, missing pics, wrong fonts, etc, etc, etc.. Hope this helps someone, as it was driving us batty before we figured out why some print jobs were turning out funny.

Oh! This answers so much for me!   I thought maybe I was missing stuff because I printed in B&W and not color.
