Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Fraction formula

Does anyone have this game or know anything about it? I saw it recently at a toy story. Math games are dearly loved here, so I'm thinking of adding this one. I would love any opinion!

OK- so I went ahead and bought this game... now coming back to review.

First of all- the way you play: dropping fraction pieces into scientific looking beakers- what is not to love about that? Especially if you are a boy?
The pieces are very colorful and drop in with a satisfying thunk. I also like the little bubbles in each piece to make them look fizzy.

If nothing else, the game provides a nice set of fraction manipulatives. It's easy to see the difference between a 10th, a 12th, a 6th, etc.

The game is deceptively simple: you draw fraction cards and drop the corresponding piece into your beaker, trying to build a whole (1) without going over. You earn points for each round. You can play a round in about a minute.

At first I was not too impressed, other than enjoying the beaker aspect.
But my ds loves everything about this game. The more we play, the more he is thinking about fractions. Today when we were playing( he brought the game to me and asked if we could play) he started to think out loud, wondering what he would have to add to an eighth, a fifth and a tenth to make one. He tried various combinations, trying to work out the solution.

I just kept my head down and tried to keep silent while he worked .
This type of problem was way more advanced than anything I would have given him in one of our math sessions, and here he was just trying to figure it out for fun. And he is in general not a huge math fan.

I am completely sold on the value of math games of all sorts at this point.
