Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I see from the curricula thread that some families have bought Math Mammoth. How do you like it?

I see there is a stuffed animal that coordinates with the program, and that seems to be key to sparking my dd's interest in learning

Is it a type of program I could use to supplement Rightstart?

I'm looking at it to supplement Right Start as well.

You can sign up for her e-mails and get sample sheets.

I think it is ideal for supplementation because it is sorted by type, so, it would be easy to choose worksheets for things you have covered (since Right Start introduces concepts in a different order than, say, a traditional workbook would.

As I said, I've been thinking of it, and she has a sale through the end of the month for 20% off if you order from the Kagi store and enter the coupon code MAYSALE

Thanks, Lindsay.

I remember having to print off extra practice sheets for my ds to use with RS at certain times (to practice extra addition facts, etc).

My dd is doing well with RS but just loves all the "bells and whistles" that tie into programs. I think that is why she loved the Starfall materials so much last year for reading. Zac the Rat is still going strong at our house.

I have looked at some of the MCP math books, but they don't seem very colorful overall, and there is no character that goes with it. And RS is fun with games, etc, which she loves, but the practice sheets are very no frill. I get tired of searching out fun sheets on the internet, so I thought Math Mammoth might cover a lot of ground for me.

It is wild how different kids have different learning styles and need different things to help them along.

We use Math Mammoth exclusively and love it here! It makes my sons truly think about the equations and not just solve by habit. We we most likely stick with it through sixth grade, unless she goes all the way to high school level.
