Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This may have already been recommended, but thought I'd mention it anyway before I take it back to the library.

Sir Cumference and the Sword in the Cone

It's great and would tie in well with a King Arthur study, but we just read it to go with dd's math. Some of the characters are:

Sir Cumference
Lady Di of Ameter
Radius
Vertex
Edgecalibur (the sword)

It looks like the author, Cindy Neuschwander, has another titled, Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi

Also, Sir C and the First Round Table, and Sir C and the First Knight of Angleland.
We love them all.

Speaking of King Arthur, has anyone done a unit or study on this? My ds is fascinated by anything knightly.

I'd also be interesed in this Courtney. Ds10 has just taken up an interest here and is currently reading King Arthur today.! We could barely get him to come to the table for lunch.

Actually we have done Middle Ages a couple of years ago. I could dig up ideas here or are you after King Arthur specifically?

The King Who Was and Will Be by Kevin Crossley-Holland would be excellent for a King Arthur study. Rather than telling the Arthurian legends, it gives lots of background information about their origin, the characters, knighthood and chivalry, and other aspects of the stories.

Oh bother! I just looked on Amazon and the book has been given a different title in the US. It so annoys me when they do this . Apparently the US title is The World of King Arthur and His Court.

Thanks, Kathryn! I put that book in my cart at Amazon. I think for now, Erin, I may just stick to King Arthur. Thank you, both!
