Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have a recommendation for electronic math games/facts (handheld) - I hear Math Shark is not great. I figure it may be a good thing to have for car schooling...

We have the Twist and Shout Addition and Multiplication games. They get a bit of use, but I'm trying to really work with other kinds of games. I guess they could be of use for car schooling though. I bought mine at a thrift store for a couple of dollars. I probably wouldn't pay the inflated prices used for these games.

I am using the Right Start Math Card games for math right now, and they are working well. I am also making my own Montessori inspired activities for math. For example, this morning my little guy is working with candy corn and number cards, and multiplication flash cards to work out the multiplication facts. I cut poster board into 2" X 2" squares, then wrote the numbers for each set of multiplication facts through ten (2, 4, 6, 8...), one on each card. There should be ten cards for each set of numbers. I backed these cards with the coordinating color which matches the Montessori beads. For example, the ones facts are red, twos are orange, threes are pink, and so on. I think it will get lots of use, and I'm only out about 50 cents for one sheet of poster board for the number cards.
