Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd read The Cobweb Curtain by Jenny Koralek and really enjoyed it. Here is her narration (and keyboarding!)....

As the Magi were leaving Bethlehem a messenger stopped them. “Why did you bow down before a baby? Is he a king? I am sure my king will want to see him. Where is he?” “I am sure your king can find him,” answered the Magi. “Yours is a small town.” But the youngest shepherd , who had been listening was afraid for Jesus and his parents, and ran back to the stable. “ Come quickly, he said. “King Herod wants to hurt the child! Mary grabbed Jesus, and they ran out of the town. The shepherd hid them in a cave and left.A spider who lived in a crack wondered what they had done to be hiding on such a cold night. “ I cannot build a door, but I can spin a web to keep them warm,” thought the spider. So she spun a web across the opening of the cave.Early that morning some soldiers came looking for Jesus. They did not look in the cave because of the web. When the shepherd saw the footprints of the soldiers,he was afraid. But when he saw the spiders web he took it down and set it on a small, dark bush. He gave Mary and Joseph a donkey and food. Then he dug up the small bush and took it home to his family. And that just might have been the beginning of tinsel. THE END

Very well done! I love the story, too. I've never read that one.
