Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 1st grade dd will be starting her first spelling notebook this year as we work through WRTR.

I am looking for a source for the "sewn purple-and-white, stiff-cover composition containing thirty-four leaves, each having twelve lines with 5/8 inch (1.6 cm) spacing" that Romalda Spalding recommends for k-2 use.

I'm assuming that the purple-and-white part doesn't matter all that much.

Can anyone point me to a source for these? The closest I've been able to find thus far are 50-page first-grade ruled, or wide-ruled, which is 3/8 inch.

I don't want to sweat the small stuff but I'd also like whatever we use to be genuinely useful rather than a stumbling block. I have several 100 sheet/200 page wide-ruled composition books around.

If all else fails, I might just produce some paper ruled in this manner on my computer and comb-bind it.

Any hints for this are welcome!

Thanks --

Sherry C.

I bought it from the folks at Spalding. If you page down to the picture, you can see children holding this book.

I think you could use any wide-ruled sort of notebook that would be appropriately-sized. I think I bought ones from Staples that were around the line width recommended.

I can't remember prices from either Staples or Spalding though, and I don't know if the Staples ones were available online, as I bought them in the store.

Thank you! That was exactly what I needed.
