Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am trying to decide which readers/phonics to use for next year. I have used Explode the Code and like it. It is thorough and the kids like the funny sentences. I would really like to use something Catholic though. Can anyone tell me more about the Little Angel Readers and workbooks? Are they thorough? We use Little Stories for Little Folks, but there are a lot of holes in that program. It moves too quickly for my daughter. I love the sweet stories though.

I love Little Angel Readers. (Have you checked out Cathy Duffy's review?) It is all I use for language arts for 1st & 2nd grade (and my girls are good readers).

The teacher's manual is a must, and the readers & workbooks are awesome. If you do everything in the teacher's manual, it is very thorough. I have an older son with a learning disability and I wish he would've started with something like this, which includes multi-sensory activities. You can't go wrong with this program--Catholic, fun, and thorough.

We couldn't handle LSFLF. I guess it just didn't suit our learning styles around here. We really like Little Angels and I agree that the teacher's manual is a must for a thorough program.
