Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Which Bravewriter book would you recommend using with a 3rd grade boy who doesn't much like to write at all.

Seems like he is on the upper end for Jot it Down but may not be ready for Partnership since it is recommended for ages 9-10. He's very bright but can be a little lazy. Would Jot it Down be too easy? Are they doing the writing in this or just dictating? I couldn't really tell online.

Thoughts?

Ryane,

I am going to use Jot it down for my 3rd grade dd. I have it in hand. There is a sample plan that involves using copywork several times a week (but the passages are not included) as well as French dictation and reverse dictation. There are 10 monthly writing activities. I think that it is more than enough for my 8 year old. The fairy tale project, the photo journal, and animal mini book look like you could even do them over several months. All 10 seem fun and engaging so they may be just what your boy needs if he doesn't like to write.

Similar for 4th grader - does one still need Writer's jungle as background for any of these?

Amanda,

I think there is enough info on her website and in the jot it down manual to get you started. Then if it fits your style, buy the writer's jungle. I love the writer's jungle. It has so many good things in it, but it is expensive so I would say wait to see if it fits you.
