I'm getting this to use for both my boys. Do I need to purchase anything extra beside the kit when using it for two students?

If you are planning to do it with them both at the same time, you will need an extra student package, which will contain the color-coded cards and workbook. They really need to be able to manipulate the cards, especially, to fully benefit from the program. I'm sure the workbook is copyrighted, too, though it's worth double-checking.
BTW, this is a great program for teaching boys grammar (girls, too, I'm sure, but I used it for my son who simply didn't grasp parts of speech any other way).

It depends on how you're going to use it, Cassie. If you plan on using the program, teaching the lesson, and then want to hand both boys a workbook and expect them to complete the workbook exercises for that lesson, then yes, you'll want two student workbooks. However, I don't think that's necessary.
I've used the same kit twice without consuming anything, and I'll be using it again with my 3rd and 4th eventually. We use it as part of a dictation exercise, and I just lay out the cards across the table after having taught the short lesson from WG. You could certainly sit two boys at the table and ask only one to build a sentence at a time while the other watches. As far as the workbooks, I don't enjoy workbooks anyway, so I just use the teacher's manual (we don't even use the workbook - the sentences and answers are all printed in the TM), read the sentence aloud (slowly), and they build the sentence while I read. I see no need to require a student to complete 8 gazillion sentences in a consumable workbook exercise, when using the cards to "build" 2 - 3 sentences directly on the table works very well, takes less time, and consumes less.
We had no problem completing the entire program in this way. It builds their habit of attention (they have to listen to me read the sentence aloud carefully - although I will repeat a sentence and read slowly). Also, I just ask what the prepositional phrase is modifying and the student tells me - in the workbook exercise, they're supposed to draw an arrow.
I would highly recommend taking the time to laminate the cards. Ours have lasted and lasted and I credit the lamination.

This is how I see us using the program. Thanks!
