Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am lost with grammar. We have tried quite a few grammar texts before finding CM. I ditched the grammar texts because my dc's didn't seem to be learning from them. Now I just don't know what to do for grammar. We have ILL by Emma Serl, and I like alot of things in it - but the grammar is too easy. I also got Simply Grammar, but that is too easy. My dc's are 11 & 13. They aren't great at grammar. I love the approach that Simply Grammar and ILL use - but I need something that will teach them things they don't already know. Any suggestions?

Alot of grammar is repetition.. have you tried just using higher levels?

I like Easy Grammar.. short lessons that cover all the basics in every level increasing in complexity. I haven't had time to really look over the high school levels yet though.

What about Analytical Grammar? That is what I am planning on using.

I only teach grammar formally 3 times during a child's 12 years of home education. I use Winston Grammar for those formal grammar years. I like the program because it fits with our CM approach in the area of language arts and I can use the tools of the Winston Grammar program with our studied dictation lessons. The other years (from about 4th grade on), we discuss grammar through our studied dictations.

Edited....I forgot ( ..... ) that I had also written a post on how we approach grammar specifically.
