Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can someone who is doing Serendipity's LLL be so very kind as to explain how it actually plays out in your home during any given week? Pretty please?

We didn't do these last year, so this year we started wtih nouns. Currently we are on the singular/plural lesson - number 5, I believe. The first day we read the corresponding pages in the Heller book and talk about them. We have a white board so we brainstorm different nouns that fit the "profile", and then the kids write them in their notebooks and illustrate. I have been able to locate different worksheets, etc. online and will use those if needed. My dd9 is also doing the IEW for history, and has to incorporate the language lesson of the week into her writing.

We also read the Ruth Heller page, then ds copies the definition for the particular lesson into his main lesson book and provides an example from the Heller book. The next day, he creates a four square grid on the facing main lesson book page and creates four examples of his own. Another day he does corresponding pages from Simply Grammar 5/6 and then (and this depends on how put together mom is that week) he must locate the example in one of his copywork selections from the week...if I am together enough to think have pre-selected copywork passages with correct grammatical examples.

I'm not following serendipity, but I did buy all the Ruth Heller World of Language books after seeing them referred there.

My dd reads the page and then draws pictures related to it. For example, on compound nouns, she draws pictures of butterflies, rainbows, and sunshine. So far this is working well enough for us.

Here are several examples of main lesson books pages. Click on the pictures to see them larger.
