Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Is it just me or is it hard to find a lot of the good Catholic books (that are mentioned in most Catholic homeschooling catalogs) at a regular library? I wish there was a giant Catholic library nearby so we could share books. I feel like I am forever buying books, which is OK with me but not my budget. I keep telling myself that I'm "creating a home library" that will serve the family well through the years ... but ouchy.

We use the Interlibrary Loan System a lot. They can usually find just about anything we need, the only downside is having to wait to get it and restrictions on how long they can be kept.

Maria - It's not just you. Our library is pathetic when it comes to any Catholic titles. I think it might be regional because I've heard MaryG mention that her library is terrific. Here in the Bible Belt, not much of a selection.

I make use of Amazon marketplace's used books a lot. I have found a great used book store. And I watch for sales. That's the best I can offer other than to start asking family and friends for gift certificates to Amazon for birthdays and Christmas which is another big help. Books are just treasures that we do not do without...too much!
