Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

From our camping trip...

July 9,2005 on the Middle River after helping the boys catch a HUGE insect in our bug catcher (okay, I let out a little scream once when I thought it slipped out of the bug box and my fingers were right there...you should have seen the pinchers on this thing!) and reading from our field guide

5yo: "This was down at the water laying her eggs and then we caught her. She is a Dobsonfly. She has some pinchers so when you hurt her she'll pinch you! She lays a thousand eggs and they hatch and little Dobsonflies come out. They are little tiny worms when they come out. They live in the water for 3 years and then they get big. We are going to turn her loose so she can finish laying her eggs."

I am so thankful for all of the CCM guidance on these boards!

I was bitten by a hellgrammite (Dobson fly nymph) once. Owch! They are pretty cool looking, and the narrations is wonderful!

Is there a picture to go with it? I can upload it, if you can scan it.
