I have a new laptop, and it is a PC with Vista.
When I use Firefox as my browser (which I prefer) when I log in, I get the "log in successful" screen - but I am not really logged in. It never shows me as logged in on the button on the upper right of the page, and when I try to post, it tells me to login, which I then try to do again, and again I get "log in successful" - but I'm not.
Can you help? Or should I just use Explorer for 4Real? I use Firefox on the desktop and on DH's laptop with no issues like this....

Laura-
I have not tested the configuration you have. Have you verified that the forum keeps you logged in when using IE on Vista?

Yes. I had to open IE in order to post, and IE keeps me logged in fine.

Having a different but similar trouble here myself today. I just downloaded Firefox because my dh put IE8 on our laptop and it is totally messed up
When I try to login with Firefox, it says login is UNsuccessful, that my cookies need to be enabled. But they are enabled. When I *disable* them and try again, I get a similar but different "Login was unsuccessful" page. I have no problems on IE (7 or 8) with this forum.

No help here, but just wanted to say I had the same problem awhile back and it finally just resolved on its own. In fact, i first downloaded Firefox b/c I was having that trouble with IE, and Elizabeth had posted that sometimes Firefox works for her and sometimes IE works, so I gave Firefox a try. I ended up liking Firefox SO much better than IE that I've stuck with it for my regular browser, but for awhile I had to open IE just to use this forum. But suddenly it worked again, possibly b/c of some Firefox update, I don't know.

Oh, and yes, I have checked my cookies, they are enabled, and also checked them specifically for 4Real. I also have a new laptop with XP and downloaded Firefox.

I am still using Firefox 2.0 here at work (for work-related reasons), and I am assuming that you are using Firefox 3.0 since you just downloaded it recently. I will have to test with version 3.0 from home.

I'm using Firefox 3.0.10 and I'm not having any issues.
Very puzzling.
